Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Baird is also certified to provide patients with general dentistry treatments while they are sedated. This is a wonderful option for many patients who are anxious about visiting the dentist for any number of reasons, or would like to accomplish more in a single visit.
One of the benefits of having general dentistry performed while being sedated is that you can have multiple general dentistry procedures performed during the same visit. This is a great solution for anybody who has postponed visiting the dentist for any reason and needs to have extensive general dentistry work done
We use three protocols to achieve different levels of sedation…
1. Nitrous Oxide, the old tried and true method of light sedation, it is fast, safe and rarely leaves an after effect.
2. Oral sedation- the new kid on the block except we have been using it for over a decade. Just take a couple of pills before you come in and that visit in not even a memory.
3. IV sedation is the “big gun” for those tricky or serious cases. Dr. David Gutzman, a dental anesthesiologist help our patients sleep through their visit. He has been helping our patients for 15 years with 100% success.
